During Mr. Pina's 40+ years of experience in safety management and industry, he has worn many hats including chemical plant operator; union journeyman pipefitter; construction manager for the demolition and cleanup of steel mills, coke plants, chemical plants, paper mills, and other processing facilities; and corporate safety manager. Holding a master of science in safety management and a master of science in geology, Mr. Pina has also been a Certified Safety Professional since 1994. His experience includes many safety/environmental projects, including asbestos abatement, groundwater monitoring, erosion investigation, and hazardous and non-hazardous waste removal. Over the years he has provided a variety of safety training, from HAZWOPER and forklift certification to proper lifting techniques and fire brigade training. Mr. Pina instructed both undergraduate and graduate safety classes at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) where he was also an OSHA Consultant through the Pennsylvania state OSHA Consultation grant. Mr. Pina provides expert witness consultation and testimony for plaintiff and defense attorneys. Cases have involved slip, trip & fall, elevated falls, struck-by hazards, forklift accidents, loading docks, electrical shock, burns, chemical spill exposures, mudslides and others.
